Tracking the success of a grant-funded project is serious work. For the Illinois ResourceNetwork project, a portfolio with images was not the answer to showcasing projects. Instead, a user-friendly map-based application that allowed for text to be read over a Google map was desired.
A Google Map “mashup” application was developed to enable the communications coordinator to add projects to the map which appear on the map in real-time. Branding was also desired so that the placemarks on the map matched the project’s logo.
